The Green Party General Election candidate Ann Walsh is enjoying her canvass and states that she is getting a good reaction on the doorsteps which is instilling confidence in her campaign. “People are really positive towards my campaign. I’ve had a good reaction everywhere I go,” said the North Wexford-based candidate who is chasing the Green vote across the county.
“I got on great. People are really looking for change in a big way and they are very interested in looking at and listening to a different way of things, and I suppose, for me, the Green Party represents the triple bottom line – the environment, the economy and society – and they are totally inter-connected.
Eamon Ryan, Leader of the Green Party, was clearly excited by Ann Walsh’s approach to the election.
“I think we have got a wonderful candidate in Ann Walsh and I remember Ann coming into the office and we started talking about the idea of her running and the smile got wider and wider on my face because I thought she was a really good candidate.”
Mr Ryan concluded that “Ann Walsh is a really good candidate and a Green vote would say something about Wexford,” concluded Mr Ryan, because he believes “that is the way the world is going.”
