Cannabis resin with an estimated value of €126,000, pending analysis, has been seized in Cork.

The drugs were discovered following the stop and search of two cars at Skehanagh, Watergrasshill, Co Cork yesterday afternoon shortly before 2pm.

Three men, aged 41, 51 and 59 years, were arrested at the scene and were detained at Gurranabraher and Mayfield Garda Stations under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking), Act, 1996.

The men aged 41 and 51 were charged in connection with the investigation, released from Garda custody and are due to appear before Cork District Court on Wednesday at 10.30am.

The 59-year-old man was released from Garda custody without charge. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A fourth man, aged 30, was arrested in North Dublin and detained at Finglas Garda Station under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking), Act 1996.

He has since been released from Garda custody without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Part of the cannabis seizure was discovered in a follow-up search of a premises in Gurranabraher in Cork City.
