Families who have raised concerns about standards of care at Portiuncla Hospital in Galway are expected to be given a draft report on the issue this week.

The review which looks at two baby deaths, amongst other cases, was set up last March and was due to be completed within five months.

Warren Reilly is the father of babies Asha and Amber who died at the hospital in 2008 and 2010.

He says the way they have been treated has compounded his family's grief.

Mr Reilly said: "The biggest issue we've had in the entire experience is absolute lack of respect and communication with families.

To further prolong families' pain by failure to communicate the simplest of things, such as dates, the failure to plan properly for the reporting of such incidents."
