A woman from Dublin’s Northside says she went into work with "a huge smile on my face" after winning €500,000 in a recent Euromillions draw.
The woman, who wishes to keep her identity private, collected her €500,000 cheque from National Lottery offices today.
She purchased her ticket in the Reynolds store on 6 Abbey Street Lwr., Dublin 1 last Thursday. It was a €12 ticket, valid for last Friday and next Tuesday’s EuroMillions draws.
She picked her own numbers, and won the €500,000 prize in Friday's draw.
"I've been playing EuroMillions since it began in 2004 but this is by far my biggest win to date," she said.
"I won €8 extra on today’s ticket – never rains but it pours!
"I was at home on Friday night and I got the update email from the Lottery with the winning numbers.
"Couldn’t believe my eyes! Got my Dad to check them for me again. Then he couldn’t believe his eyes!
"Only my family know and that’s the way I want to keep it."
There were two winning tickets on Friday night, both sold in Dublin, each worth €500,000.
"I went into work this morning, bright and early as usual, but with a huge smile on my face," she said.
"I’d say the smile will continue for a while."
The lucky woman has plans for the win, including " a bit of foreign travel.
"Some treats as well for my family and myself, and definitely some donations to charity.
"I’m a firm believer in what comes around goes around, and I’m more than happy to help, now that I can.
Last Friday’s other EuroMillions Plus ticket, also worth €500,000, was purchased in Dunne’s Stores Kilnamanagh Shopping Centre, Tallaght, Dublin 24 – a €6 Quickpick ticket, purchased on Friday.
