The curtains are up on the 2016 drama season and nine nights of top groups and excellent plays are coming to Kilmuckridge Memorial Hall, from Friday night until Saturday week with Geoffrey O’Keeffe as adjudicator.
The local festival was not run last year because Kilmuckridge hosted the All-Ireland Confined Finals, but it is welcomed back again this year and the organisers are hoping for a full house every night.

Friday, February 19; ‘The Far Off Hills’ by Lennox Robinson performed by Kilrush Drama Group (Open Section).
Saturday, February 20;‘Big Maggie’ by John B. Keane performed by Sillan Players (Confined Section).
Sunday, February 21; ‘Where He Lies’ by John Barrett performed by Kilmuckridge Drama Group (Open Section).
Monday, February 22; ‘Greta Garbo Came to Donegal’ by Frank McGuinness performed by Coolgreany Drama Group (Confined Section).
Tuesday, February 23; ‘Lost in Yonkers’ by Neill Simon performed by Bridge Drama Group (Open Section).
Wednesday, February 24; ‘The Cripple of Inismaan’ by Martin McDonagh performed by the Ballycogley Players (Confined Section).
Thursday, February 25; ‘Moonshine’ by Jim Nolan performed by Bunclody-Kilmyshall Drama Group (Open Section).
Friday, February 26; ‘Children of a Lesser God’ by Mark Medoff performed by Take 5 Drama Group (Confined Section).
Saturday, February 27; ‘One Man Two Guvnors’ by Richard Bean performed by Prosperous Drama Society (Open Section).
Kilmuckridge Drama Festival is staged under the auspices of the Amateur Drama Council of Ireland, starts nightly at 8 pm, admission is €10 (adults), €5 (children) and Patron’s tickets for nine nights are available at €60.
