Conor McGregor has nearly as many critics as fans, with plenty ready to denounce him for his brash confidence.
But even people unimpressed with his swagger and tendency to blow his own trumpet will have to give him credit for some very classy behaviour this weekend.
While out and about in Galway he was swamped with people looking for pictures and autographs. Even though he is just weeks away from a lightweight title challenge against Rafael Dos Anjos, the UFC star was happy to spend time with his fans.
And as Sinead Nora McGrath explained in a Facebook post, he was also willing to go the extra mile to meet those who couldn’t come to him.
“Conor McGregor is a true credit to Ireland,” she wrote. “When I heard he was in town myself and Stevo Timothy immediately went to search for him. When we found him he told me he loved my pyjamas and then I explained to him that my boyfriend uses a wheelchair, he linked arms with me and got his security to walk myself and himself to my boyfriends car to take pictures and a chat.”

Sinead and her boyfriend were both blown away by the Dubliner’s kindness and generosity with his time.
“An absolute hero and gentleman, thank you for representing us Conor!” she said.
