The four major party leaders will tonight take part in the last TV debate of the election campaign.

The RTE debate will be the culmination of the second-last full day of campaigning.

The debate with Enda Kenny, Joan Burton, Micheaál Martin and Gerry Adams will get underway at 9.30pm.

Meanwhile, campaigning continues as we enter the final days of the election campaign before voters go the polls on Friday.

Jobs, public service spending, homelessness and proposals to deal with climate change will be among some of the issues discussed by the political parties today.

Director of MKC communications and former assistant government press secretary for the PDs Stephen O'Byrnes said: "The big problem for all four is they're coming into a debate when they're all very tired.

"They've been using lines that are now comiing out of them in their sleep at night - it's going to be really challenging to be fresh and empathetic."

He outlines some of the key issues the political leaders will be hoping to get across tonight.
