Ronnie O'Sullivan is "not really bothered" about the World Championship after starting the year with two major titles.

The 40-year-old took almost eight months away from the snooker tour after losing to Stuart Bingham in the Crucible quarter-finals last April.

He has returned to win the Masters and Welsh Open, taking the latter title on Sunday after a 9-5 victory over Neil Robertson in the Cardiff final.

O'Sullivan will be attempting to land a sixth world title when he heads to Sheffield for the World Championship, which begins on April 16.

But he intends to adopt a relaxed attitude at a tournament that lasts a draining 17 days.

O'Sullivan said he was "overtired" after taking the Welsh title, and said: "I need a nice easy month now without any competitions and relax by filling the tank up.

"If I get my sleep right then I have got half a chance. If I don't get it right then playing two sessions in one day will be too much for me."

He added on the BBC Sport website: "You just have to accept it will be a long haul and you could get beaten in the first or second round and then you don't have a problem.

"I'm not really bothered about Sheffield, I am not bothered about any tournament. I just treat it like a vacation and enjoy the time that I am away."
