Polling begins in the General Election today on 12 islands off the western and northern coasts.
Some 2,133 people are eligible to vote on the islands off Donegal, Mayo and Galway, before a broadcast moratorium begins at 2pm.
The campaigns are winding down today, but Sinn Féín’s Gerry Adams will be making a final appeal to young voters, while Fine Gael’s Enda Kenny will travel to Athlone and Castlebar.
Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin in canvassing in Cork while the party holds its final press conference in Dublin.
Tánaiste Joan Burton is also canvassing in the capital.
The Anti-Austerity Alliance-People Before Profit are also out on the last day before most of the country goes to the polls.
