A woman has died in a car accident in Galway just after 8am this morning.

Gardaí say the car she was driving a truck were in collision on the N18 at Clarinbridge.

The victim was the sole occupant of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body has been taken University Hospital Galway.

This stretch of road at Clarinbrige is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
