Gardaí in Co Wexford have arrested four people in connection with alleged incidents of false imprisonment, blackmail and criminal damage.

The investigation centres on incidents in Gorey, County Wexford between January 25 and February 3.

Two men aged 25 and 33, and two women aged 31 and 48 are being questioned.

They were arrested in Gorey and Enniscorthy this morning.

Three of those arrested, 2 men and 1 woman, are detained at Enniscorthy and Wexford Garda stations under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

The 48-year-old woman was released this evening without charge.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
