Gardaí are appealing for information after a man suffered serious injuries in an early morning assault in Dublin.

The 57-year-old is in a serious condition at St James Hospital - following the attack in Harold's Cross at about 4am this morning.

The man was discovered injured outside the Park View Apartments by emergency services.

Anyone who was in the Harold's Cross area between 3.30am and 4am this morning is asked to contact Gardaí at Rathmines station.
