A man in his 30s has died after being struck by a car in Tipperary last night.

The pedestrian was involved in a collision on the N62 at Clongur, Thurles at about 10.40pm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and a post mortem examination will be carried out.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The scene has been closed to allowed Gardaí conduct a forensic examination.
