The 11-month-old baby who died following an incident in an apartment in Killarney has now been removed to hospital where a post-mortem will take place.

The baby was found dead at an apartment on Upper High Street in the town yesterday afternoon when his mother returned from work.

A Polish man in his 30's - believed to be the baby's father - was also found with serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he's continuing to receive treatment.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses - particularly anyone who was in the vicinity of the apartment complex between 1 and 6pm yesterday.
