Former head of the World Anti-Doping Agency, Dick Pound, has said Russian athletics is still in denial of the drug problems it faces.
The country's track and field athletes are currently banned from international competition.
It is with the Olympics in Rio just months away.
Mr Pound told Sky Sports News, there are questions over Russia's response to a report last year that found evidence of doping in the country: “It turns out they haven’t changed and the same conduct is still going on, four months after the report.
“I am dismayed by these reports and if they turn out to be true, it could be an indication that maybe they are not taking this seriously enough.”
