Leinster prop Cian Healy has been ruled out of this weekend’s Six Nations clash, less than 24 hours after being named among the replacements.
Healy had been expected to feature from the bench against the Italians in the Aviva Stadium on Saturday. The IRFU said that he is out because of a mild hamstring strain.
His absence could mean a first cap for Connacht’s Finlay Bealham.

The Australian-born 24-year-old, who qualifies to play for Ireland through his grandmother, replaces Healy on the bench.
Ireland are still in search of a win in this year’s tournament after drawing with Wales in the opening game and then losing to Wales and France.
