The Minister for Transport has said notices to quit sent by a vulture fund are “inappropriate and unfair”.

60 tenants at the Cruise Park estate in Tyrellstown, west Dublin, have been told to move out.

Around 200 families fear they’ll lose their homes, after the estate was sold to meet a developer’s debt.

Minister Paschal Donohoe has said the letters to quit are unacceptable: “Regardless of why they sent that letter, and I find that kind of terminology, that kind of approach to people unacceptable to people, given everything that families have gone through in our country.

“But this is why it is so crucial for people to be aware of what their rights and responsibilities are.

“We have strengthened legislation in place to deal with these matters regardless of who the bank is.”
