An ambulance and a car have collided on the N21 Limerick Tralee Road.
The collision occurred around 4.20pm today.
The incident involved a Civil Defence Ambulance and a car, according to gardaí.
A garda spokesperson said a number of people have been injured. The extent of their injuries is not known.
Three garda patrol cars and a HSE ambulance crew are at the scene near the Lantern Lodge, outside the village of Adare.
The road has been closed and gardaí are organising traffic diversions.
Delays are building in the vicinity of the crash, according to AA Roadwatch.
