The headstones of 13 people, including W.T. Cosgrave, have been vandalised at Goldenbridge Cemetery in Dublin.

The grave of the first leader of the Irish Free State was one of those smashed by vandals.

The Glasnevin Trust say that some of the graves have been destroyed beyond repair.

The cemetery has been the target of vandalism a number of times in the past few years.

Goldenbridge Cemetery is currently closed while gardaí investigate.
