The INMO has said agreement has been reached on the overcrowding crisis in Emergency Departments.

It is after talks resumed at the Workplace Relations Commission earlier.

The union representing nurses has said the HSE and the Department of Health have confirmed that the deal agreed at previous talks will be fully implemented, including the hiring of more personnel.

The General Secretary of the INMO Liam Doran explained: “The HSE and the Department of Health have confirmed that they will implement all strands of the original agreement

“That includes filling all vacant posts and additional staff to deal with admitting patients.

“They have now confirmed that the hesitancy that has been apparent in the last couple of weeks will disappear and they will staff up the areas to deal with the increased demand.”
