Talks are resuming today at the Workplace Relations Commission, on the implementation of a deal to tackle overcrowding in emergency departments.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is pressing the HSE and the Department of Health to honour outstanding commitments to increase staffing.
The INMO has said its agreement with the HSE must be fully implemented.
Liam Doran of the INMO has said nurses are frustrated by the lack of progress: “They are tired of seeing ever increasing levels of overcrowding,
“The best thing that management can now do is meet their obligations, fulfil their obligations and in the absence of that I think the anger and frustration of our members on the front line will continue to grow and more importantly patients will continue to suffer.”
