Gardaí in Limerick have renewed their appeal for information after a fatal collision between a car and a van in which two men died.

A 23-year-old man who was seriously injured in the accident on Tuesday died last night in hospital.

His was the second death as a result of the accident; a 28-year-old man who was a passenger in the car was pronounced dead on Tuesday night.

The collision took place at around 7.30pm on Tuesday evening on Hyde Road in Limerick.

The driver of the van and his passenger - a five-year-old girl - were also taken to hospital. However, their injuries are thought to be minor.
