A teenager has been rescued from the River Shannon in Limerick.

The Valencia sea and rescue team in Limerick, took the girl from a boat at 6.30pm this evening.

Gardaí maintained communication with the teenager during the rescue.

They have confirmed that the girl is uninjured.
