Mesut Ozil has restated his continued admiration for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger following reports suggesting he may leave the club this summer if the Gunners’ long-serving French boss stays on.
The German midfielder, who has more than two years remaining on his Arsenal contract, distanced himself from suggestions he might reconsider his future there – depending on Wenger’s situation.
Ozil indicated on Twitter that he retains much faith in the veteran manager.
Have seen the media reports today. Arsène Wenger was a big reason for me joining Arsenal – this hasn’t changed! #Respect #AFC

While domestic top-flight football takes a break, Ozil is set to play for Germany against England in next weekend’s friendly in Berlin.
