A 30-year-old woman has died following a collision in Newtowncunningham in Donegal yesterday.

The collision happened on the N13 at Castleforward at around 8:30am when two cars collided.

The driver of one of the cars, a 30-year-old woman, was taken by ambulance to Letterkenny General Hospital where she passed away this afternoon.

The driver of the second car, a man in his 40s, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Gardaí in Letterkenny are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
