Transdev MD Gerry Madden has said that there is now no scope for further improvement on pay proposals: “Very shocked, the results have only come out in the last few minutes and I wasn’t expecting it.

“A big apology to our customers firstly who will yet again going to be the people that suffer here on Easter Sunday, Monday and again on next week’s strike action for Saturday, Sunday.

“The proposal we put up last week in the WRC was the absolute outer limits of what we could afford in our current financial situation.

“So therefore there is no scope for further improvement and it will be worsened still interms of the reward we can offer people once they have taken further strike action.

“it’s a grim situation for sure.”
