The daughter of a Dublin man stabbed to death in a Sydney restaurant has said she loves him "more than anything" and "will always be (his) girl".
Keith Collins, 53, was having dinner with his girlfriend Jovi Pilapil yesterday evening - some outlets report it was their first date - when a man reported to be her ex-partner attacked the couple.
He stabbed them both.
Mr Collins died after the attack in a Korean street food restaurant in Hornsby Mall, while Ms Pilapil is in a stable condition in hospital having suffered wounds to her chest and arms.
She had reportedly taken out a restraining order against their attacker just last month.
The man, reported to be 38 years old, has been charged with murder and attempted murder.
Mr Collins had been living in Australia's New South Wales for a number of years, but was originally from Dublin.
His daughter posted a message to Facebook saying: "I love you more than anything dad, I'll forever be your girl no matter what."
The Department of Foreign Affairs said it had received no request for consular assistance in the case.
