Almost 5,000 cigarettes and 9.5kg of tobacco have been seized in the Moore Street area of Dublin.

Revenue officers and Gardaí found the 4,600 cigarettes, branded "Excellence", "Mayfair", and "MG" and tobacco, branded “Flandria”, today as part of an intelligence-led operation.

Their retail value is more than €7,000, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €5,600.

They are continuing their investigation.
