THE HOOK Lighthouse Guide tour programme for 2016 will be officially launched at the famous landmark on Thursday, April 28, at 10.30 a.m.

One of the most iconic sites in the country the lighthouse is the oldest, operational facility of its type in the world is known all over the globe.

The forthcoming launch is being organised in conjunction with Ireland’s Ancient East initiative from Fáilte Ireland.

The event will be hosted by Tux Tweedy, the last Principal Keeper at the lighthouse, and Eibhlin Wickham, author of ‘The Lonely Old Lighthouse’.
