Two men were arrested after an attempted armed robbery was foiled at Courtown Post Office this afternoon.

After entering the premises, the men, who were armed with a fake gun, were tackled by staff members .

Nothing was taken and nobody was injured, although staff were shaken by the frightening ordeal.

Gardai arrived on the scene and arrested two men who will appear in Court at a later date.
