Dundalk remain top of the Airtricity League Premier Division after tonight’s games.
The defending champions were comfortable 2-0 winners over 10-man Shamrock Rovers tonight at the Tallaght Stadium.
David Webster’s own goal in the 16th minute gave Dundalk the lead against the run of play.

The Hoops’ chances suffered another set-back just after the half-hour when team captain Gary McCabe was sent-off for a studs-high challenge on Dundalk’s Stephen O’Donnell.

The visitors effectively sealed the points at the start of the second-half when Ronan Finn powered-home a low shot from 12 yards out.

Derry City remain two points behind the league leaders after the Candystripes were 1-0 winners over Bohemians.
Rory Patterson’s 12th minute goal was enough for the home side to take all three points at the Brandywell.
Elsewhere, Cork City were 3-1 winners over Finn Harps, despite also finishing the game with just 10 men.
Early goals from Gearóid Morrissey and Sean Maguire put the Leesiders in charge before Kenny Browne’s red card but Karl Sheppard’s goal made sure of the points for the home side.

In the late kick-off, Vinny Faherty got both the goals for Galway United as they beat their hosts Wexford Youths, 2-0.
In the First Division, Athlone Town were 3-1 winners over Cabinteely while Limerick and Drogheda United both picked-up 2-1 wins away from home against UCD and Waterford United respectively.
