The High Court has ruled that the detention of a man found in a Dublin apartment with alleged false travel documents is lawful.
Naoufal Fassih, a Dutch national of Moroccan origin, was arrested earlier this month with a fake passport, ID card and over €12,000 in cash.
Gardaí also said he was wearing runners worth €800 and a €40,000 special edition watch.
Two other expensive Rolex watches were also found at the apartment on Baggot Street.
He claimed he was not given an opportunity to put his case forward properly before his application was refused last week.
However, Mr Justice Seamus Noonan decided this was not an “accurate account” of what happened and ruled his detention was lawful.
