Luas services are operating as normal today after the strikes scheduled for this weekend were called off.

Talks between drivers and operator Transdev will resume on Monday, with SIPTU saying that it is “optimistic” after yesterday’s progress.

Ticket collectors and traffic supervisors reached a deal in the ongoing row over pay, which will be put to a ballot of staff next week.

It is believed that the company has offered all staff a pay rise of 13% over three years.

The next strike by drivers is scheduled for Thursday, with further industrial action planned for May.
