Tyrrelstown tenants, at the centre of a housing storm involving a property developer and a Goldmann Sachs firm, have won a case taken to the PRTB.

Counsel for the landlord accepted that the notices of termination were invalid, on foot of a ruling by the High Court earlier this month.

It found that the intention of a landlord to sell was not sufficient grounds to issue a notice of termination.

As a result, an attempt to end the tenancies has been delayed and landlords must start the process all over again.

It follows the decision that 200 houses are to be sold after a ‘vulture fund’ bought a development loan.

The group of tenants are asking for government intervention to allow them to remain in their homes.
