A car stolen from Irish Paralympic athlete John McCarthy has been found by gardaí this morning.

The black Audi A6 estate was stolen between midnight and 8am last night from the driveway of a house in Lucan.

This led to an appeal for information from the gardaí, and the athlete himself.

The car was located undamaged in the Lucan area today.

Mr McCarthy, from Dunmanway, Co Cork has represented Ireland in three Paralympic Games, winning a silver medal in discus in Athens.
