As the new cabinet settles into office – the new Minister for Transport has promising significant Dáil reform.
Shane Ross has echoed statements from Fianna Fáil saying a change of attitude is needed for the new Government to be a success.
In his first speech as a Minister he confirmed the economic management council is being scrapped.
And Minister Ross called on members of the opposition to bring forward productive proposals: “Come and talk to me.
“I don’t know what my powers are, I don’t know what I can do in Government, but I will try to do so, because to me and to those of us who have come to power by this route, we welcome and will adopt ideas coming from opposition benches, from our own colleagues in Government.
“That is what the new Dáil is about and that is the only way it is going to work.”
