LeBron James continued his love affair with the Eastern Conference play-offs as the Cleveland Cavaliers booked their place in the final.
A hard-fought 100-99 success over Atlanta in game four of the series means James has now won 17 successive Eastern Conference play-off games stretching back to 2010.
He weighed in with 21 points at the Phillips Arena on Sunday as the Cavs swept the Hawks for the second consecutive year in the play-offs.
Kyrie Irving also poured in 21 for the visitors – as did the hosts’ Dennis Schroder – but the Cavs’ Kevin Love led the scoring with 27 in a see-saw game.
Cleveland’s win gives the Eastern Conference reigning champions the luxury of some extra rest as they await the winners of the contest between James’ former team – the Miami Heat – and the Toronto Raptors.
In Sunday’s other game, the Oklahoma City Thunder levelled their Western Conference semi-final series with the San Antonio Spurs with a 111-97 success at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The Thunder lost Friday’s contest at the same venue but a 66-point second half meant they made no mistake this time.
Kevin Durant equalled a career play-off high with 41 points for the victors, while Tony Parker (22) and Kawhi Leonard (21) led the Spurs’ effort.
Game five takes place on Tuesday night at AT&T Center.
