Ireland’s top goalscorer Robbie Keane looks to be in flying form after recovering from recent knee surgery.

Keane hadn’t played since March and posted a picture of his heavily bandaged leg on Instagram in early April.

The striker took to the field with LA Galaxy last night in his first appearance since then.

But fans needn’t worry about his match fitness, as the 35-year-old scored twice in the first half.

His brace helped LA Galaxy to a 4-2 win over MLS rivals New England Revolution.

Here’s hoping Keane can maintain his scoring form when he travels to France with the rest of the Ireland team next month for the European Championships.

He certainly sounds positive, posting online after the match: “Great to be be back feeling strong. Well done to everyone good result… On to the next.”

Just what Ireland fans wanted to see.
