Opposition parties have called on the Government to fully publish the O’Higgins report into malpractice among the Gardaí.
The Justice Minister has had the report for two weeks without publishing it, but parts have leaked to the media.
This has led opposition TDs to accuse the government of “spin” and “news management”.
People Before Profit TD Richard Boyd Barrett says the report needs to be made public.
He said: “We have to get away from a politics where the issues are debated first in the media and the last place they are discussed is in the Dáil and the houses of the Oireachtas.
“We’ve just had spin and PR on all of the substantial stories, whether it’s housing or health or the O’Higgins report and so many others. That has been the default position.”
