Ulster are resigned to being without Tommy Bowe for the Guinness Pro12 play-offs.

The province have confirmed that they have no new injury concerns after Saturday’s comprehensive win over Ospreys, but Bowe recently had exploratory surgery to examine his knee injury.

The winger had been complaining of some discomfort, but the procedure revealed no new problems and Ulster now say they’re expecting the 32-year-old to be fully fit for the start of pre-season training after the summer break.

That rules Bowe out of playing any part in Ireland’s summer tour of South Africa.

Louis Ludik will also miss the play-offs. The Ulster back is set to undergo surgery in England on Thursday for his persistent groin pain.
