A teenager from Afghanistan who was subjected to a racist attack in Dublin last week has said he is afraid to go to school after the incident.
Brother Fazal and Naqib Ahmadzai, and their 13-year-old nephew Abdul, were knocked unconscious in the attack in Rathfarnham on Thursday as they cycled home from Marley Park.
Around 100 people attended rally in support of the family and against racism in south Dublin last night.
Abdul thinks those responsible may have carried out a previous attack: “They come out of a car and just straight away, no question, just straight out punches in the face.
“I feel dizzy and they say go back to your own country.
“After that when I am walking I feel scared a bit, but the Gardaí come to my house every day and they say go to school.
“When the gardaí arrest these people I will be happy because I don’t think this was their first time I think they did it to someone else.”
