Young midfielder Josh Daniels scored his first goal for Derry City on an emotional occasion last night.
Daniels lost his mother Ruth, sister Jodie and three other family members in the Buncrana Pier tragedy in March.
20-year-old Josh is one of Derry’s rising stars and played against Finn Harps last night, coming off the bench with 12 minutes to go.
There was an overwhelming reaction from the crowd when he went on to score his first senior goal with his first touch of the night.

The game finished 2-2, with Daniels coming in for particular praise afterwards from teammates and management.
“His mother is watching in heaven, I’m sure,” manager KennyShiels told the Derry Journal.
“I’m really pleased for him. He’s a great boy, works hard in training. His family were great supporters of the club in attending matches regularly and I’m sure they will be high in his thoughts.”
Fellow City midfielder Aaron McEneff added: “I said to him when he came on the pitch, ‘this is made for you’.
“When he got the goal I was delighted for him. I think all the boys were delighted for him.
“He’s a great talent and for what he’s gone through to take his chance and go on and score is unbelievable.”
