A woman whose case is covered by the O’Higgins report says the commission’s report has not given her any closure.

The Justice Minister published the full report yesterday, saying that victims of crime were not well served by the Garda force in the past.

The investigation assessed the handling of the case of Mary Lynch – a taxi driver who was violently attacked by Jerry McGrath.

McGrath then went on to kill Sylvia Roche Kelly while out on bail.

Ms Lynch has welcomed the publication of the document, but says she would like to see the person responsible held accountable.

“I’m very happy that it’s out there, finally,” she said.

“I’m very happy that my case has bee highlighted and that what happened to me, and all that happened to me and the mistakes that have been made in my case have been told.

“I’m very disappointed that nobody has been held accountable.”
