Niclas Vemmelund had given the Candystripes the lead early in the second-half, but they couldn’t hold out for the final ten minutes.

League leaders Dundalk came away with a comprehensive 7-0 victory against Finn Harps, with goals from Robbie Benson (2), Daryl Horgan, a Ciaran Coll OG, David McMillan, Andrew Boyle and Paddy Barrett.

Meanwhile Longford Town and St Pats played out a 3-3 draw.
Longford’s goals came from Philip Gannon, Conor Powell and a David O’Sullivan penalty, but St Pat’s levelled each time thanks to Sam Verdon, Conan Byrne and Jamie McGrath.
