Fresh talks are expected to take place to try and resolve the long running row over pay at Luas.

Yesterday 100,000 commuters were affected when drivers went on strike for an 11th day and several more days of action are planned for later this month and next.

However, both sides have now agreed to resume talks in the hope of coming to an agreement.

Talks in the past have been unsuccessful as drivers want a 23pc pay rise by 2019, but the tram company is offering 13pc.

Meanwhile the new Transport Minister Shane Ross has said it would not be right to intervene in the matter as it is a “private matter”.
