A motorcyclist in his mid 30’s has been killed in a single vehicle crash in Co Kerry tonight.
The incident happened near the village of Ballyheigue in north Kerry.
The man, who was from the area, appears to have lost control of his motorcycle and crashed at a grotto about two miles outside the village just before 7pm.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out at University Hospital Kerry in Tralee.
The R551 road, linking Tarbert and Tralee, remains closed for forensic examination.
