Colm Coveney from Blackpool Celtic has bagged £10,000 for the club of his choice after being named one of the runners up in the Budweiser Dream Goal 2016 competition.

The contest saw thousands of non-league goals sent in to be analysed by judges Jamie Redknapp, Jamie Carragher and Ed Chamberlin.

The overall winner, 33-year-old Warren Byrne from Durham, won a whopping £50,000 for his club to spend.

It is the second year of the competition, with the aim being to find the best amateur goal of the season.

“I’ve loved being part of Budweiser Dream Goal for the second year running, and having the new prize fund this year has been a great addition to the competition,” Jamie Redknapp said.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to support grassroots football.”

The official runners-up of the 2016 Budweiser Dream Goal competition are:

– Raymond Westbrook – Portsmouth Amputees FC

– Louis Webster – Home Rangers

– Colm Coveney – Blackpool Celtic

– Neil Clydesdale – Banbridge Rangers FC
