Arsenal have nipped into second place in the Premier League, overtaking neighbours Tottenham on the last day of the season.
Only weeks after vying with Leicester for the top spot, Mauricio Pochettino’s men slipped to third on the back of a humiliating 5-1 defeat to relegated Newcastle.
That result, combined with an Arsenal victory against Aston Villa, left Spurs below their bitter rivals in the final reckoning.
Gooners were delighted to get the chance to celebrate St. Totteringham’s Day – the day Tottenham can no longer catch Arsenal in the League.
Former Arsenal player Lukas Podolski was among those celebrating, saying on Twitter: “Happy St. Totteringham’s Day, I’m having Lasagne for dinner”

The lasagne reference is a cheeky reminder of the time a bout of food-poisoning among the Spurs players helped Arsenal finish above them to claim a Champions League sport, in 2006.

He may have moved on to playing with Galatasaray, but looks like Podolski’s loyalty is still firmly with Arsenal.
