The family of an innocent young woman who was shot in the neck at a home on the northside of the city on Sunday have released a picture of her in hospital to show the extent of her injuries writes Liz Dunphy and Audrey Ellard Walsh.

The victim, Ciara Sheehan, aged 21, was heavily sedated yesterday for medical reasons, but she is expected to make a full recovery.

She suffered the injuries after being hit by a bullet while in a house at the Hollywood estate, off Harbour View Road on the northside of the city.

A 29-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were arrested shortly after the attack and were detained for questioning under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act.

The woman was released without charge last night and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The man remained in custody early today. It is believed a man may appear in court in connection with the incident today.

A gun was also located near the scene in Knocknaheeny yesterday and was sent to Dublin for analysis.
