NEW ROSS Gardai have recovered around €1,000 worth of illegal drugs from an apartment in the town.

The drugs were discovered during an intelligence led search carried out on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the Gardai told the Echo that a local man was arrested in relation to the find.

He was brought into New Ross Garda station for questioning and was subsequently released without charge.

A file on the matter is now being prepared for the DPP.
